On June 20, 2018, Davis Malm attorneys Haritha D. Ambros, Daniel T. Janis, Robert M. Kaitz, Sam A. Mawn-Mahlau, Andrew D. Myers, and Alicia R. Selman volunteered at BizGrow, an event designed to connect small business owners with free legal and business support. Hosted by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice, BizGrow was held at Suffolk Law School and featured attorneys from Boston’s top law firms, who joined forces to assist entrepreneurs with big dreams and limited resources.

Attorneys provided free, one-on-one legal consultations on small business issues and led workshops addressing common business concerns, such as entity formation, intellectual property, tax, employment, and contracts. Leaders from the Commonwealth’s top companies presented on crucial business issues such as finances, insurance, marketing, and e-commerce. This year marked the second annual Bizgrow event and drew volunteers from 14 firms, who provided consultations to over 280 small business owners.

Davis Malm attorney Haritha D. Ambros is actively involved in BizGrow’s host organization, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice. The group, founded in 1958, was formed to marshal the resources of the legal community to address racial and national origin discrimination throughout Massachusetts.
