Davis Malm Hosts Sixth Annual "Celebrating Success" Program

On April 11, Davis Malm and shareholder George A. "Tony" Hewett hosted the 6th annual “Celebrating Success” program which featured U.S. Congressman Bruce Poliquin, Second District of Maine; Anna Schleelein Richardson, Esq., Co-Executive Director and Chief Counsel of Veterans Legal Services; and a wonderful performance by Berklee College of Music alumni, singer/songwriter/producer Dave Mackay. The focus of this year’s program was initiatives supporting American Veterans.

Attendees included representatives from Eastern Bank, Citizens Bank, Customers Bank, SCS Financial, Eastern Benefits Group, EMC Corporation, Celtic Bank, Fidelity Bank, People’s United Bank, Commerce Bank & Trust Company, Rockland Trust Company, and Veterans Legal Services.

"It is vital how we treat our veterans,” Congressman Poliquin shared, “without them we would not have this country.”

Ms. Schleelein Richardson opened the program with an overview of the Veterans Legal Services’ mission and explained the program’s three prong approach of outreach, education, and advocacy. She highlighted the program’s successes over the past few years, which included increasing their volunteer base to 150 people and now serving over 500 veterans in the Boston area.

U.S. Congressman Poliquin spoke about the current progress in Washington D.C. with improving veterans programs. He shared his recent legislature initiatives, such as extending the ARCH Program for thousands of Maine veterans, and explained Maine’s effective approach towards increasing its veterans’ access to healthcare.

The program concluded with a performance by talented Berklee alumni, singer/songwriter/producer Dave Mackay. Dave entertained guests with his impressive keyboard skills and performed four original songs off of his upcoming summer album. For more information about Dave, visit his website.
