On April 6, 2005, Davis Malm attorney Samuel B. Moskowitz was a panelist in the Boston Bar Association's 2nd Annual State of the Courts program exploring the current state of Massachusetts Courts. The program explored court reform and funding, and focused on the experience of pro se litigants in Massachusetts courts and current proposals to address the issues they raise. Speakers and panelists included the Honorable Robert A. Mulligan, Chief Justice of the Superior Court; the Honorable Representative Eugene O'Flaherty; the Honorable Senator Robert S. Creedon, Jr.; Justice Cynthia J. Cohen of the Massachusetts Appeals Court; Professor Russell Engler of the New England School of Law; Allan G. Rodgers, Executive Director, Massachusetts Law Reform Institute; and Mr. Moskowitz, the only practitioner on the panel. Mr. Moskowitz discussed his experience with pro se litigants in his capacity as Cochairman of the Boston Bar Association's Real Estate Section Pro Bono Committee and coordinator for the Lawyer for the Day Program at the Boston Housing Court.
