Davis Malm attorney Samuel B. (Sandy) Moskowitz has been appointed Chair of the Equal Justice Coalition of Massachusetts. The EJC is a collaboration created by the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation committed to ensuring that low-income people in Massachusetts have access to the courts when they have a civil (non-criminal) legal problem. Every year, the EJC organizes the very successful "Walk to the Hill" to lobby the Massachusetts legislature for legal aid. For more information about the EJC, please visit www.equaljusticecoalition.org.

Mr. Moskowitz is a Real Estate and Litigation attorney with almost 30 years of experience. Throughout his career, starting as a legal services attorney for Birmingham Area Legal Services, he has dedicated himself to advancing the interests of access to justice and civil legal aid. In addition to his recent EJC appointment, Mr. Moskowitz is also an elected member of the Board of Directors of Greater Boston Legal Services, whose mission is to provide high-quality legal services to low-income individuals and families in the Greater Boston area. From 2005 to 2008, he served as an elected member of the Boston Bar Association Council, and, since 2005, an appointed member of the BBA's Public Service Committee, which oversees all public service programs of the Bar Association. He is past Chair of the BBA Real Estate Section (1993-1995) and its Condominium and Cooperative Committee (1991-1993). Mr. Moskowitz has also served on the Section’s Steering Committee, as the BBA’s appointee on the Land Court Committee on Registered Land Guidelines and for ten years served as Co-chair of the BBA’s Real Estate Pro Bono Committee, which created and operates the Lawyer for the Day Program at the Boston Housing Court. In recognition of this work, in 2000, Mr. Moskowitz received the Denis Maguire Pro Bono Award and in 2006, the Adams Pro Bono Publico Award from the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
