George A. Hewett Conducts Small Business Legal Clinic

On February 9, Davis Malm attorney George A. "Tony" Hewett conducted a small business legal clinic for Coastal Community Capital, a Massachusetts-based non-profit community development lender. The clinic is part of a workshop series put on by Coastal Community Capital's EntreCenter, which offers free entrepreneurial support to small businesses. Mr. Hewett discussed entity formation options such as LLCs, S-Corps, and partnerships; best practices for understanding and drafting contracts; and need-to-know real estate basics including leasing and zoning.

The program was co-presented by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, the Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Yarmouth Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Hewett practices in the Business Law area focusing his practice in commercial lending, real estate finance, and public finance. He works extensively with the US Small Business Administration closing and servicing loan transactions including the 7(a) loan guarantee program and the 504 program for economic development.
