Davis Malm attorney William F. Griffin, Jr. participated in two seminars on issues affecting businesses in various stages of development. The first seminar, "Formation and Initial Operation of Business Enterprises," offered substantive advice and practical information on forming a new business and choosing the proper business entity. The second seminar, "Advising Ongoing Business Enterprises," covered the wide ranging issues that affect established businesses. In both seminars, Mr. Griffin discussed the fiduciary duties of officers, directors and owners in the various stages of a business's development.

The seminars were offered by the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc. and were appropriate for business lawyers. The MCLE is the continuing legal education arm of the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Mr. Griffin is a shareholder at Davis Malm. He has extensive experience with sophisticated business and financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities, venture capital financing, tax-exempt bond financings, tax shelter syndications, equipment lease transactions, state and municipal finance, foreign investment in U.S. real estate, and bank and utility regulation. He also has extensive experience in real estate transactions, including condominiums, subdivisions, mortgages and mortgage foreclosures, commercial leasing, construction and permanent financing, as well as zoning practice, litigation, work-outs and asset recoveries. Mr. Griffin is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
