Davis Malm client Affirmative Investment and Manchester Affordable Housing Corporation were recently featured in a Sierra Club publication, Building: A Guide to America's Best New Development Projects, for their renovation and development of 10 and 12 Summer Street in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. The Sierra Club report is an annual listing of the best new developments in the country based on their ability to offer transportation choices, revitalize neighborhoods, and preserve local values. Davis Malm attorneys Samuel B. Moskowitz and Robert J. Galvin assisted Manchester Affordable Housing in the creation and development of the project.

10 and 12 Summer Street is a significant example of a smart growth project as it provides mixed-income and mixed-use facilities centrally located to existing town infrastructure. Of the twenty-one units at 12 Summer Street, eighteen are long-term affordable rental units and of the ten owner-occupied condominiums at 10 Summer Street, half are available only to income-qualified, first-time homebuyers.

Both Mr. Moskowitz and Mr. Galvin are members of the Land Use and Real Estate Group at Davis Malm.
