Davis, Malm & D'Agostine, P.C. is pleased to have represented Brookline Cooperative Housing, Inc., a tenant-owned housing cooperative, in its conversion to the condominium form of ownership. The cooperative was created 40 years ago to house low and moderate income persons whose homes were taken by an urban renewal eminent domain taking in the early 1960s. This conversion created nearly $20 million in value for the former tenant/shareholders of the cooperative. Following the conversion, 25% of the apartments will be permanently reserved for low and moderate income homeowners, by agreement with the town of Brookline. Davis Malm attorneys Robert J. Galvin, Avi Lev, Samuel B. Moskowitz, and William F. Griffin, Jr. worked on the conversion.
