Davis Malm shareholder Sam A. Mawn-Mahlau has been appointed to serve on the board of the recently formed Odyssey Opera, a Boston-based opera company dedicated to presenting adventurous and eclectic repertoire. Mr. Mawn-Mahlau has been a longtime supporter of the arts and has served on the board of trustees of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project since 1997. Davis Malm incorporated Odyssey Opera as a nonprofit corporation on a pro bono basis.

Odyssey Opera was founded in 2013 by Gil Rose, a leader of the classical music scene. While the company plans to produce well-known operatic works from its historic beginnings, it will also focus on unfamiliar classical works and new contemporary operas. Odyssey Opera will make its debut on Sunday, September 15 at Jordan Hall with a performance of Wagner’s “Rienzi.” For more information about Odyssey Opera, click here.
