John T. Lynch Elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Hundred Club of Mass., Inc.

On September 17, Davis Malm shareholder and Executive Committee Member John T. Lynch was unanimously elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Hundred Club of Massachusetts, Inc (The Club). Mr. Lynch is only the second person to serve as Chairman as he succeeds Norman Knight, a founding member of the Club who served as Chairman since the Club's organization in 1959. Upon his retirement, Mr. Knight nominated Mr. Lynch to succeed him.

"I feel honored an humbled to be elected to succeed Norman Knight as Chairman," said Mr. Lynch. "I am totally committed to follow the creed of the Club in regard to our beneficiary families - 'We care for those who care for us.' "

The Hundred Club assists the families of firefighters and police officers who make the ultimate sacrifice. These benefits include cash grants, scholarships, counseling, tuition, camps, special events and other benefits that continue from year-to-year. The Club has approximately 1,500 members and has become one of the preeminent charities of its type in the U.S.

Mr. Knight is a well-known Boston philanthropist and entrepreneur. The Norman Knight Hyperbaric Medicine Center at Mass Eye and Ear has helped thousands of patients and saved hundreds of lives since opening in 1997. Mr. Knight also endowed the Norman Knight Nursing Center for Clinical and Professional Development at MGH and the Norman Knight Nursing Center at Mass Eye and Ear.

Mr. Lynch has been a member of the Club for almost 40 years, serving as a member of the Board of Directors and legal counsel to the Club for almost 30 years. Mr. Lynch practices in the Business law area, focusing primarily on advising business organizations as general outside corporate counsel and representing them in corporate transactional work. He is also a Life Fellow and member of the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, a charitable corporation that provides equal access to the legal system for the most vulnerable; and a member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Fallen Firefighter Memorial Fund, Inc.
