Christopher Marino practices in the Litigation, Business Law, Employment, and Real Estate and Environmental areas. He has extensive experience in the trial and appeal of complex business litigation in the areas of shareholder disputes, corporate governance, securities, real estate, construction and development, employment relations, contracts, and insurance coverage disputes. Chris also advises clients on general business matters, including business formation, contract negotiation, and employment matters.  He represents clients before state and federal courts, appellate courts, and arbitration panels throughout the country.

Representative Matters


  • Obtained a jury verdict worth approximately $6 million for a NYSE-listed company after a three-week trial in Delaware Superior Court in a breach of contract action arising out of defendant's failure to honor an environmental indemnification.
  • After a two-week jury trial, obtained a unanimous jury verdict successfully defending a real estate developer in a breach of contract action in which plaintiffs sought $7 million in liquidated damages.
  • Obtained payment on insured’s claims against insurance company for property damage after the insurance company denied the claim.
  • Won summary judgment in favor of national real estate developer awarding it the right to develop and sell units in a development project despite the fact that the developer defaulted on its payment obligations and the seller had foreclosed on its mortgage on the property.
  • Successfully represented acquirer in an asset sale against the seller for breach of the representations and warranties about the condition of the assets
  • Represented shareholders in tender offer case appealed to the Delaware Supreme Court, resulting in class benefit of more than $80 million.
  • Defended secured creditor claims in bankruptcy action against breach of fiduciary duty and RICO claims.
  • Served as plaintiff's counsel in two related securities class action litigations that resulted in settlements $6.7 million.
  • Defended companies against claims of copyright infringement, violations of licensing agreements and Trademark Counterfeiting Act.
  • Successfully defended investment banking firm against breach of contract and gender discrimination claims.
  • Counsel to employers in non-compete and non-solicit agreements.
  • Obtained dismissal of a class action claim under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
  • Served as counsel to both majority and minority shareholders in close corporation disputes.
  • Defended contractors for breach of contract claims.

Representative Reported Cases


  • Guest-Tek Interactive Entertainment Inc. and Guest-Tek Interactive Entertainment Ltd. v. Thomas Pullen and Purehd Ltd., 655 Supp.2nd 42 (D. Mass. 2009) - Briefed and argued for an employer in precedential case holding that Consumer Fraud and Abuse Act applied to employee who copied employees’ confidential and proprietary information in breach of fiduciary duties.
  • Billing v. Credit Suisse First Boston Ltd., 426 F.3d 130 (2d Cir. 2005) - Represented investors before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in which the Court reinstated a lawsuit alleging that Wall Street's largest investment banks and institutional investors violated federal antitrust laws in connection with the hot issue IPOs of the late 1990s.
  • In re Salomon Analyst Level 3 Litigation, 350 F.Supp.2d 477 (S.D.N.Y. 2004) - Successfully defeated motion to dismiss regarding allegations that Salomon Smith Barney violated securities laws when it issued knowingly false and misleading analyst reports on Level 3 securities to generate investment banking business.
